DEA Anna-Kaarina Peura will defend her dissertation Échafaudages du réel. Images d'une vie prospère dans l'oeuvre stratégique de Walter Benjamin.

The dissertation seeks to highlight the strategic, that is to say directing and formative constancy of the philosophical discourse on history and individuality in Benjamin's thinking. The study proposes to verify that, from the point of view of the relation between the theory of knowledge and self-knowledge, true knowledge for Benjamin is equivalent to authentic life.

Note to Audience

Public defence of dissertation is open to everybody. To avoid disturbance, the audience should enter the lecture room in time, and it is appropriate to stay for the whole defence. The audience shall rise to acknowledge the arrival of the doctoral candidate, the Custos, and the opponent(s). During the examination, there should not be applauses, and all congratulations take place outside the room. There are no guidelines for the audience dress code.
